Recycled PET Bottle
This recycled PET is then sent by manufacturers for use in the packaging industry. First, PET pellets are converted into preforms, which are transported to bottle manufacturers who do not produce their own preforms ready to be made into new bottles.

These PET preforms are heated and then reshaped into the correct size and shape. This provides a more sustainable future for packaging by closing the bottle-to-bottle loop.

Recycled and decontaminated PET is completely safe for use in food packaging and has been approved by agencies like FDA and EFSA and governments nearly all around the world.

Recycling
While bottle-to-bottle recycling is ideal, sometimes the plastic that is collected and sent for recycling is not of good quality to be used in this way, as this process can be repeated over and over.

In these cases, the recycled PET is flaked and washed before it is heated and stretched into the fiber. This is then turned into recycled polyester yarn and used to make fabrics that can be used in seat belts, bags, carpets, roof insulation and even clothing.
